HER SIRE

Carnivalay
Northern Dancer - Obeah, by Cyane

They don't make any more sons of Northern Dancer, and in that respect, Carnivalay a 15.3hh flashy bright bay stallion is a jewel for the Mid-Atlantic region in the U.S. He sired EIGHT stakes winners last year, and no other sire in the Mid-Atlantic had more stakes winners.

CARNIVLAY
CARNAVALAY: NORTHERN DANCER - OBEAH, BY CYANE

Carnivalay's 29 stakes winners include Breeders' Cup performers Valay Maid, who finished third in the Distaff in 1990, and Radu Cool, who set the pace in the 1997 Distaff and finished fourth. Both Radu Cool and Valay Maid earned more than a half-million dollars, but neither filly are Carnivalay's leading money-earner. That honor goes to multiple graded stakes winner Ameri Valay, who brought home $743,529 in purses before retiring to stud. Third-Leading Sire in Maryland Carnivalay's pedigree is rich as well. His dam, Obeah, won the Delaware handicap and was a race mare of the first rank. Her record as a broodmare is equally superb. Her four stakes winners included Go For Wand, champion juvenile filly of 1989 and champion 3-year-old filly of 1990, and an earner of $1,373,338.
