Ok, so I guess technically I could have called this site SOFIA SUPPORT, but I'm not a huge fan of alliteration, and the current title is passably clever.
"[Sofia] is very single-minded about what she wants to do and why she wants to do it," declares Lombard. "That can make her a little abrasive and undiplomatic. But basically, she wants to be a cop. That's partly because her mother was one and partly because she wants to get the bad guys." Lombard's interest in the role grows out of how she views Sofia in contrast to the show's other characters. "There's really not much gray area with her, as opposed to most of the CSIs," she admits. "They are all scientists, so it isn't necessarily about good and bad -- it's about viewing the evidence and withholding a judgment. There's much more restraint. But that's not really how Sofia approaches her job." [excerpt from TV GUIDE]
Louise Lombard rocks. Louise Lombard as Sofia Curtis rocks harder.
Let's face it, CSI has never been big on character development -- it's all about the science -- much as we all grasp and fawn, spin and interpret the occasional scrap we're thrown.
From Sofia's first flirty introduction, many chose to see her as a threat and interloper... A choice the writers seem to oft encourage and sometimes ignore completely, confusing and dividing fans and creating an exorbitant amount of expressed Sofia-hate (especially in the GSR communities).
But what's to hate? Strong, smart, competent, funny, brash, uncompromising and hellbent on making the world a better place, Sofia's a fantastic role model, and a great addition to the CSI team. Sadly, there seem to be few vocal supporters, which is what has brought this site into existence...
This site contains completely unscientific, biased opinions and inane and useless reviews of Ms. Lombard on CSI and in various other roles. I'm obviously a fan, and this is my outlet, a work in progress and drop in the fandom bucket. Welcome.
