This quality bay (bleaches to look nearly-buckskin in the summer, and is a beautiful shade of chocolate in winter) mare was started right with plenty of consistent handling, ground work and ponying before being backed in the late fall of her two year old year. She was ridden in training for 30 days then turned out for 3 months to allow her to grow up and mature. She was started back in late winter and continues in her training under the skilled hand of Maryanne Gough. She has established all the basics from stopping, leg yielding to some collection and lead departures, and her easy-to-train attitude allows you to handle and position her whenever you like. Strongly built and soft minded, this filly was started with Cutting and Reined Cow Horse in mind, and after being lightly worked on the mechanical cow, this is where her breeding really shows. Her sire, Diamond J Star is well respected in both Cutting and Cow Horse circles with his progeny already consistent earners, we have no doubt that Ruby also has what it takes to make it as a performance horse. Ruby is a kind and easygoing mare who longes, loads, ties, stands for the farrier, baths and clipping. She would suit any rider capable of bringing on a prospect, and her gentle nature would make her a fantastic Non Pro Futurity Prospect, whilst also having the makings of a lovely Open filly too.
